Research on ultrasonic vibration–assisted electrical discharge machining SiCp/Al composite

In this paper, ultrasonic vibration–assisted electrical discharge machining (UEDM) is used to process SiCp/Al composite materials in order achieve a higher material removal rate (MRR) and lower surface roughness, width overcut, relative tool wear (RTWR). On the basis of studying erosion mechanism EDM material, flow field simulation study was carried out using FLUENT software. The results gap show that vibration electrode conducive chips, which makes more stable improves efficiency. Based on single-factor experiment, effects peak current, reference voltage, pulse width, interval MRR, RTWR workpiece are studied. Then, based orthogonal gray relational analysis method optimize parameters, influence 4 indicators comprehensive performance optimal processing parameter combination obtained. reliability optimization verified with experiments.
